Analytics Engineer

Your responsibilities

  • Build modular, production-grade data models and datasets using dbt, ensuring data is transformation-ready, tested, and documented.
  • Design, develop, and evolve robust data pipelinesfrom ingestion to transformation and modellingusing SQL, Python, and AWS services (S3, Glue, Kinesis, EMR), with clear documentation and monitoring for reliability and anomaly detection.
  • Orchestrate data workflows and dependencies using Apache Airflow (or similar tools), ensuring maintainability and performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (Data, Product, Engineering, and Business) to translate requirements into high-quality, actionable datasets.
  • Engage with data engineering on upstream ingestion and downstream analysis/reporting pipelines.
  • Support the implementation and migration of BI/reporting tools, recreating or architecting reporting suites as needed.
  • Apply best practices in DataOps (version control, CI/CD, testing, documentation, data lineage).

Key requirements

  • Proven 2–5 years experience working in an analytics engineering, data engineering, or related role.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with a proven track record in designing, implementing, and optimising data models.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt for transformations, testing, and documentation.
  • Practical experience with AWS stack, particularly S3, Glue, Kinesis, EMR.
  • Familiar with Airflow or similar orchestration platforms.
  • Solid understanding of data quality assuranceobservability, and data lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Additional skills (not essential)

  • Familiarity with BI/visualization tools or frameworks (Looker, Tableau, Superset, etc.).
  • Previous exposure to data ingestion tools or real-time streaming pipelines.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks, documentation standards, and scalable analytics platforms.
  • Experience working in fast-moving, cross-functional teams in fintech or product-led environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
